The recruitment process can be stressful and cause anxiety for players, parents, and even coaches. While it is an important step to take in your soccer journey, we want to do our part as a club to make sure our players are up to date on recruiting trends, NCAA policies and more.
UNDERSTAND THE TIMELINE
28 PLAYERS
NCAA soccer rosters typically cap at 28 players, making spots highly competitive. The transfer portal significantly impacts opportunities for high school players, as some colleges will prioritize older, experienced athletes.

Look and act professional at games and training.
Camps & Visits Matter
- Coaches often want recruits to attend camp before committing.
- Camps help coaches evaluate fit and help players evaluate coaches, culture, and style.
- Recruiting is about finding a home, not just an offer.

How YOU EMAIL MATTERS
Players should send the emails, not parents, and emails should be short and specific. If you are emailing prior to an event, send your email 5-7 days prior so it doesn't get lost, and send a follow up email after the event.
Patience matters, and you shouldn't expect instant replies. Additionally, don't spam or mass email hundreds of coaches with generic, copy and paste emails. Be specific and personal with each program you contact.
